Valley of the Giants is a campaign created by Kervin and Jacqueline Clenance around 2016 to address two concerns. One from Jacqueline professional activities which was the lack of knowledge and awareness youth had about colleges, mentors and community service organizations available to them in their hometowns. The second was a focus of Kervins professional activities and a radio station general manager and General Sales Manager ( most notably at HOT 105 in Miami). His concern was showing the collective impact of black diaspora. His success was built on harnessing the the impact of members of the African Diaspora in a very diverse south florida community. Putting these two facets together, Valley of the Giants was design to illuminate the collective impact of all the under recognized national and international organizations that have local chapters in South Florida to ensure that south Florida students were informed and thus able to make use of the extensive resources these organizations hold.
The initial and current activity of VOTG was to provide workshops for middle and high school students to make them more aware of the “Giants” that exist in their communities.
The next activity is the Valley of the Giants Impact Awards Night where the work of these organizations with youth and other areas of need can be showcased in the best possible light and where these organizations would also receive funding to support the continuance of their work.
Ultimately, Jacqueline and ( the late) Kervin L Clenance want to honor the remarkable work of these organizations, illuminate their collective achievements and INSPIRE future generations to continue the legacies of higher education, entrepreneurial endeavors and to continue the legacy of service to community and mankind.
With your support, VOTG youth Workshops and the VOTG Impact Awards can have a positive and reverberating impact on service and philanthropy in our communities.
